Sian Ka'an is a protected biosphere reserve in Quintana Roo, named a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site in 1987. In Maya, its name means 'spell, gift or gateway to the sky.' It covers 528,147 hectares of reefs, coastlines, mangroves, lagoons and jungle, across the municipalities of Tulum and Felipe Carrillo Puerto.
The day is in the morning, 6 to 7 hours plus transfer. They pick you up at your lobby or meeting point and take you to the base in Tulum; from there you go in on a dirt road and cruise the biosphere by boat, six people per vessel. It includes a professional bilingual guide, snorkel gear, a life vest, a snack when you board, water and soft drinks, and typical food.
Bring sandals, sunscreen, sunglasses, a swimsuit and a towel. We set it up through a single contact at HH and quote it by the date and the number of people.
